Introducing…Wedding Ceremony Programs!

We launched our Ceremony Programs last week at the Bridal Showcase of California (review of that to come!), and our catalog of 5 designs is about to double in size!  Here are the designs we currently offer:

…..

(Left to right: Zig Zag Wedding Program, Polka-Dot Wedding Program, Striped Wedding Program, Modern Stripe Wedding Program, Solid Color Wedding Program)

All of our Wedding Program designs are tri-fold cards that can be customized with your choice of color(s), fonts and ceremony wording — and all feature look-alike caricatures of the bride, groom and bridal party on the inside:

You can customize up to 25 (25!) caricatures for your Wedding Program, including (but not limited to!) the bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, officiant, family, flower girl and ring bearer.  Even pets!  Our Art Team will work with you on every detail of your Wedding Program, which is ultimately printed on beautiful 110-lb. card stock.  Here’s a view to show the tri-fold nature of the programs:

And here’s a view of the Wedding Ceremony Programs in action at the September 2011 wedding of Jen (PosePrints’ Co-Founder):

2012 Bridal Show: This Weekend!

Happy New Year!

It’s two days into 2012, which can only mean this: The Bridal Showcase of California is coming up!  This weekend will be our second time sharing PosePrints wedding products with our lovely Northern California brides.  So, if you are (or know) a California bride-to-be, the Bridal Showcase is the go-to destination for all things bridal.

Remember meeting us at the 2011 bridal show?

Like last year, we’ll be sharing our personalized Save-the-Date Cards, Save-the-Date Magnets, Bridal Shower Invitations, Bachelorette Party Invitations, Thank You Notes, Rehearsal Dinner Invitations and gifts (all featuring custom, look-alike caricatures!) with brides-to-be.  But this year, we will be officially launching our Wedding Ceremony Programs at the show!  If you can’t make it to the bridal show, head over to PosePrints.com on January 8th to check out our wedding programs:

And if you *are* in the Sacramento area on January 8th, please stop by our booth and say “hi!”  We look forward to meeting you!  And if you need more information on the bridal show — or want to purchase discounted tickets — click here!

Favicon

It’s a big day over here…PosePrints has a FAVICON!

What is a favicon, you ask?  According to our good friend Wiki, a favicon is a “shortcut icon, Web site icon, URL icon, or bookmark icon, most commonly 16×16 pixels, associated with a particular Web site or Web page.  Check it out here:

Okay, it’s obviously a little small (I did say it measures 16×16 pixels), so it’s best seen on your browser.  Go check it out at PosePrints.com and let us know how it looks to you!  See it?!  Here’s a zoomed-in version:

It’s the tiniest little PosePrints caricature that’s ever existed!  I made her in Illustrator (a.k.a. my best friend) by setting my artboard at 16 pixels by 16 pixels, shrinking a PosePrints caricature down by a million percent, and fixing her up from there.  I then exported it at 72 dpi, and…voilà!  Okay, I handed the file over to our web guru and he added our favicon girl.  I can’t take all of the credit.

I’m not sure what took us so long to favicon-ize our site, but I now can’t imagine what life was like before she was here.  Seriously, though, she’s a keeper.

Business & Calling Cards are here!

We are so excited to announce the launch of Business Cards and Calling Cards at PosePrints.com!  Our new Business Cards feature your custom caricature (or two…or three!) against a colorful circle on the front, and your personalized text on the back:

This caricature product is different than the rest (cards, notepads and magnets, where you can create your own caricature and preview your item on the PosePrints website), since the “pose” appears within a cute, colorful circle.  We thought it looked cleaner and more professional like that.

Who wants a caricature on their business cards, you ask?  These people do:

  • Creative Professionals

  • Teachers

  • Freelance Workers

  • Entrepreneurs

  • Tutors

  • Brides and Grooms (wedding gift bag tags or favor tags)

  • Moms

  • Your Kids

  • Recent College Grads

Our cards measure 3.5″ x 2″ and are printed on bright white, 110-lb. card stock.

To order your personalized business or calling cards, simply select from one of our business card designs (the only difference among them is the color and number of caricatures) and place your order.  We will send you instructions on how to create your caricature on the website and send us the text for the back of your card, and then we send a proof to you within 24 hours to approve.  Easy!

Hand-Drawn Caricatures

Consider this a throwback post — to hand-drawn artwork!  Nothing beats hand drawings, in my opinion, but it’s so much more time consuming than Adobe Illustrator drawing…for me, at least.  Maybe it’s because that whole “Undo” feature doesn’t exist in the non-computer world.

(That’s me on the left.)

Looks a little different than our PosePrints caricatures, right?  I created this simple line drawing for the “Guestbook Table” at my wedding, asking our guests to draw in (or sign) a sketchbook.  I’m totally obsessed with the drawings and colorful doodles that came from it!  One of our friends (name withheld) actually created her own line drawings depicting the different “places” that are special to us.  I’d see if she wants a job with PosePrints, but I know we can’t afford her.

In case the artist in you is interested, I only draw with ONE kind of pen.*  Over the years I’ve tried switching, but nothing does it for me like the good ol’ PILOT G-2 0.38.  Gel ink. Smooth. Fine. Inexpensive.  It’s the only pen I write and draw with, and I literally cringe if I have to use a ballpoint pen.  (Yep, there’s a little bit of OCD in this family.)

Want a custom line drawing?  Let us know! Could be a cute gift…or thank you note…

*By the way, I’m a self-taught “artist” and am not an expert by any means.  If you’re an expert/trained artist/art-school-alum, tell me about your pen preferences!  I’d seriously like to know.  Okay, enough pen talk.

Wedding Ceremony Programs

We’re BACK (from a quick honeymoon, that is) and ready to share some of our wedding stationery with you!  In due time, we’ll show you everything Jen personalized (and commissioned!) for the wedding day: the Save-the-Dates (magnets!), Invitations (letterpress!), Welcome Letters (gray & pink!), Escort Cards (calligraphy!) and Menus (fried chicken!).  Jen’s bridesmaids also used custom PosePrints for her Bridal Shower Invitations (well, they had to — sorta).

Above all, Jen’s favorite PosePrints-made paper at her wedding were the wedding ceremony programs.  We can’t wait until the professional photos are back (which should do the programs justice), but ’til then, check them out!  Here’s the cover in — you guessed it! — gray and white stripes:

Like the “staging” of the photograph?!  Yeah, me neither.  Moving on…

And here’s the inside of the ceremony program — the best part! (If you want to see this as a bigger image, simply click on it — or click over to our Facebook page and check out our photo albums.)

The ceremony program is a tri-fold card (measuring 15″ x 5″, so 5″ square when folded) printed on 110-lb. bright white paper, and features cute, personalized caricatures of the bride and groom, officiant and bridal party.  If you look closely, you can see the bridesmaids’ custom earrings (gotta love Etsy), groomsmen’s gray gingham ties, and ring bearers’ pink gingham ties.  You probably don’t know any of these people, but take it from me — they look like them!

Interested in a custom PosePrints Wedding Ceremony Program for your big day?  We’ll be adding them to the site soon, but until then, click here to contact us for information regarding placing an order.

A PosePrints Wedding

There’s a PosePrints Wedding this week!  Jen, PosePrints’ Co-Founder, is getting married this Friday in Napa Valley.  We can’t wait to share her wedding stationery with you (Save-the-Date Magnets! Invitations! Programs! Menus! Stickers! Welcome Cards!), all printed by PosePrints.

‘Til then, get a taste of the festivities with our new card design!  It mimics the color theme of her wedding: simple, modern, gray, white.  Click here to check out the new Gray Stripes design, which is only $1.00 per card ’til 9/18!

The new card design features stripes of light and pale gray with charcoal type, and is a sleek choice for Save-the-Date cards, personalized stationery, gender-neutral baby shower invitations, and thank you notes.

And you guessed it: that’s Jen and her husband-to-be, above, in their wedding outfits!  (Jen says she hopes her skin looks that good on her wedding day…)

To the altar!

Our Website Redesign!

A couple of weeks ago, we revealed our “new” website — designed by yours truly.  As our big 4th birthday was approaching, we were ready for our website to have an updated look.  Now I’ve never had any formal training in website design, but I think you’ll agree that the overall feel is brighter, cleaner…and better!

Take a look at the comparison.  Here’s our home page, before and after:

…and the Product Detail page, before and after:

…and the Design-Your-Caricature page, before and after:

The biggest change we made was adding the “View All” button next to the hair scrollbar (which, as you might remember, took…um…awhile to scroll through).  We will be adding this functionality to all of the scrollers before too long.  Head over to our website and check it out: now, you can click the “View All” button and see all of your options!  When you’ve selected the right feature for your custom caricature, you just click the pink “x” to close out of it.  So much easier, right?!

Here’s what else we did:

  • We added “breadcrumbs”, which are those pink circles you see on the left-hand side of the screen, letting you know which step you are on when you’re creating your card.  This reminds you how quick and simple it is to create your personalized caricature cards, magnets and notepads!  4 easy steps!
  • Buttons changed from HTML (boring) to images (fun!).  Check out the “Personalize this Design” button above, for an example.  We went for bright pink and turquoise, because those colors go with everything, right? ;)
  • We changed the header to include brighter colors — and caricatures in our logo.  When we first created the site, I remember thinking we should keep the Navigation Bars and overall design pretty neutral, since the caricatures and our products are full of bright colors.  I’ve since changed my mind.  Can’t have too much color if you’re working with caricature cards!  Do you agree?
  • Next up: We’re adding a “Missing Something?” button to our Create-Your-Caricature page.  This will let you know that if you don’t see something you’re looking for, we can create it for you!

And, if you remember, we added this bright design to our card options in honor of the big redesign.

What do you think?  Do you like our new website design?

New Golf Design

Check it out!  We were getting a little bored with our old Golf design (called “Tee Time” — yeah, we were sick of the name, too), so we changed it up!  Here’s the new card design:

And here’s the old one:

Do you like the new one better?  Be honest!  The new card features a golf course, greens, and golf flags, and makes a cute invitation (for golf tournaments, charity events at the country club, birthday parties at the golf course…even bachelor and bachelorette parties!), stationery gift for your favorite golfer, and Save-the-Date card.

Don’t forget to completely prep out your Golf cards and invitations by adding your polo shirts, visors, sunglasses, and sweater sets.  And, as always, let us know if you don’t see a specific feature you’re looking for.  You know we’ll create it for you!

Fore!!
